How to use it

  1. Paste your menu address. Any menu works: a menu page, your website, even a PDF link. Use the full address, starting with https://.
  2. Choose the wording. The "scan for our menu" line comes in 12 languages; add a second language for visitors and an extra line if you like.
  3. Number the tables, or print a number of identical cards. The number is printed on the card; the code is the same on every card, so it opens the same menu.
  4. Print or save as PDF. Four cards fit on an A4 page, or two large ones. Cut along the dashed lines.

Test before you print them all. Scan the code with two or three different phones, in the light where the cards will stand.

Getting guests to scan

  • Put the card where the eye lands: in the middle of the table or on a stand, not flat under the salt.
  • Say what they will get. "Scan for our menu" or "Order from your table" works better than a bare code.
  • Keep the code large and clean. Print it in black on white, and do not crop the white border around it; phones need it.
  • Have a paper option for guests who do not use their phone at the table.

When the menu changes

The code holds your link. As long as the link keeps working, the cards keep working; if the address of your menu changes, you need new cards. With a QR menu whose address stays the same, you change dishes and prices in seconds and the cards on the tables never change. Table ordering can work from the same cards.

Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The code contains your link itself, so it works for as long as the link does. There is no redirect in between that could be switched off.

Can I take orders from the table with these cards?

The cards open your menu; the table number is printed on the card, not inside the code. To know which table an order came from, you need a separate code per table from your ordering system, as QRestAI table ordering provides.

Can I use it with a PDF menu?

Yes. Paste the address of the PDF. Keep in mind that a PDF is hard to read on a phone and has to be replaced every time the menu changes.

Which languages can the cards be printed in?

English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Turkish, with an optional second language.

Is my link stored anywhere?

No. The code is made in your browser and nothing you type is sent to QRestAI.
